It's 9am and what a great day I've had!

I started my day as usual and at about 7:45am I ran into my angel, Geraldine!

Geraldine is the school bus driver in the neighborhood around Northminster. I haven't seen her in weeks because her route has changed a bit.

She is truly a blessing to speak with in the morning! Because of her smile and awesome personality she makes my day!

Then the morning got even better when Cassie from Hands Up Ministries came walking out the front door of Northminster!

She walked across the street and I introduced her to Geraldine. Geraldine then blessed our day and took off on her bus route.

Cassie and I continued our conversation about what was taking place in the Northside. She mentioned that the inspection on her SIXTH house went well!

Hands Up Ministries will soon have SIX Houses that afford people the opportunity to live in a HOME!

I love the fact that such a loving couple as Cassie and JT, have given their ALL to share the Love of Christ with the folks in Northside and Highland Park!

What an awesome ministry that they have going on!

Let's dance!

My relationship with God is like a dance!

Just like dancing, someone has to lead and someone has to follow.

I need to let God lead and get out of the way. I don't want to step on Gods' toes, because then I will trip and probably fall over!

I'm learning more and more about Gods' power inside all of us. The Holy Spirit dwells inside us just waiting to teach us how to dance!

Do you believe God can raise someone from the dead? Heal the sick?

God had a plan on 1/26/2012!

This past April a van was donated.

A few weeks went by before the actual need was met.

What was the need?

Let me back up a bit.

On January 26,2012 Jeff, Mark, Pete and I went on a tour with Embrace Richmond. We traveled to the projects in Southside called Hillside Court. There we had an awesome time eating lunch together and getting to know some of the folks that live there.

As we left Jeff mentioned one of his favorite stories that he heard at lunch, was the story of a lady that had started a church there. She started out by having dinner and a movie on Friday nights! It is always encouraging to hear how a church gets started.

Back to my original question, what was the need?

The lady that started the church needed a van!

My buddy Charles made the connection and by the end of May, she got a van!

I never imagined this happening back in January!

I love to see how God brings things together, if we are patient!

What are the chances?

This morning I received an email from Wendy suggesting that I take a look at a piece of property on Chamberlayne Ave.

I love looking at possibilities and dreaming about what could be.

Most of the time it is something new that I never thought of. God has a different plan and I need to just get on board with his plan.

Whenever I take a look at property I look up the owners information through the city tax records. I went about my normal routine of due deligence and came across the information I was looking for.

I shared the information with my wife. We both couldn't believe it! What are the chances! 

Does God have a sense of humor or what!

Are there coincidences or just God showing himself to us!

Today is June 1st 2012! Why is this day significant?

It's a day of reflection on what God has done!

Today I went to look back on how far this journey has come in a short few months. I went to February 25, 2012 where I started my first blog post!

So in just three short months a lot has happened!

I started back then prayer walking around a Church, Northminster that I knew hardly anything about. I did know the senior pastor, Sammy.

I had no idea why God would have me there in a strange neighborhood!

As time has flown by God is up to something BIG!

I now have conversations with folks about how to reach out to the neighbors and how to help redevelop the poorest sections of Brookland Park and Highland Park.

Conversations are being had around topics like partnerships, business development, non profits coming together.

More conversations around helping the young adults get jobs and creating safe places for teenagers to hang out.

Churches are working together to reach the lost.

All this out of a deep love for Christ and a calling to get off my butt and get in the game!

There are so many people hurting in the Northside!

In the last three months I have read about three murders that have taken place on my prayer drive through the neighborhood!

I had no clue about any of this three months ago!

God has done so much I can't get it all down on paper, but I have tried to write about most of it through this Blog.

The Northside and Richmond as a whole is about to change!

Let's all get off the couch like myself and start walking with God and watch him do His thing!
